How has Yishun changed from the past to the present?

Yishun has changed a lot from the past to the present. Yishun does not have villages, as the houses are changed to Housing Development Board(HDB). There would be more spaces in Yishun for other purposes, as HDB takes up lesser space than villages. This includes having more amenities and facilities for the residents to use and enjoy, such as having more shopping malls in Yishun. Yishun is no longer called Nee Soon.

Feature of Northpoint City

-two retail wings

-the 920-unit North Park Residences

-Community spaces

-an underground retail link with direct access to Yishun Mass Rapid Transit(MRT)

Why do peopkle like to visit the place?

People like to visit Northpoint City, as the food sold there might be appetising and cheap, so they would prefer to eat there. The things sold there might be one of a kind and can only be found in Northpoint City, not in any other places in Singapore.

Discuss how certain amenities and facilities may have contributed to residents’ strong sense of belonging to Yishun

An example of a certain amenity and facilty would be the Northpoint City. Northpoint City promotes a sense of belonging, as the people might have spend a long period of time there. Northpoint City holds a lot of fond memories for them and they might have build strong bonds with their friends and family there. Therefore, they feel that they belong and do not want to move out of Yishun. This could also be because of the strong and unique features of the area. The landmarks and colour schemes of Northpoint City gives the place its visual quality, character and identity.

Conclusion of hypothesis

Yes, I think that this is true. When there is more amenities and facilities in Yishun, residents of Yishun would be able to make more positive experiences, as they spend their time there. People may recognise a place due to its distinctive feature.

I would recommend the Yishun Park in order to make it even more special for the residents of Yishun.
